There Should be a Law!

Welcome to ThereShouldbeaLaw.info.

How many times have you heard the expression there should be a law or there oughta be a law? If you've ever thought that there should be a specific law for something now is your chance to let the world know what it is. Please bookmark this page and return often to see what new ideas others have come up with regarding new laws that should be considered or enacted.

There Should be a Law is a blog created to collect your ideas about laws that you think should be created. For instance, "there oughta be a law making it mandatory to wash your hands before coming out of the bathroom - personal or public." Obviously that is a boring example but you get the idea.

If you have any ideas for strange laws, weird laws, drug laws, traffic laws, divorce laws, tax laws, labor laws, police laws, breastfeeding laws, cellphone laws, lending laws, immigration laws, voting laws, welfare laws, gun laws, truancy laws, child care laws, foreclosure laws, bankruptcy laws, political terms, ceo pay, liquor laws, dui laws, search and seizure laws, child support, right to work laws, health care and driving and road rage laws let us know! Anything you think would be an interesting law or should be a law or make a good law.

There are tons of ideas out there. If you have some original creative ideas please share them with us. Just fill out the comments section below this post. If we get enough great ideas they may be compiled into a publication(s) down the road.

There should be a law making it mandatory that anyone taking out a payday loan complete a 2 hour investment course prior to signing a contract. The investment course should cover interest rates and be paid for by the payday loan companies and administered by an independent organization. They should be available anytime.

There ought to be a law or a special welfare program in which those who borrow are required to pay back 1 and 1/2 times the amount they borrowed and serve as mentors for others who join the program.

One quarter of the extra payback could go to administrative costs and the other quarter to handle defaults thereby making the system self-funding except for the initial startup costs.

When people file bankruptcy, they should have to forfeit direct and indirect assets of their bad debt.

Example.
When a collage graduate or student file for bankruptcy o student loans, books or credit cards and school supplies are on those credit cards. The student must forfeit his or hers degree.

The purpose and results of this will be fewer bankruptcies. Students will find a way to pay off their loans instead of taking the easy way out.

If two or more people are involved in the act of a crime and only one is caught. The one that is caught should have to do the time for the others who were not.

Example.
Three me rob a bank and only one is caught. The maximum time for each robber is 15 years. if the one robber dose not cooperate in the capture of the other two. He must do their time, 45 years. Even if they are captured after trial, he must finish the complete sentence.

People who are on welfare should not have the right to vote.
